Addic7ed service for xbmc subtitles addon (UPDATE 1)

Hello,

i was really surprised to see that the owner of addic7ed.com requested the removal of addic7ed service in the xbmc subtitles addon.So i dig up the source code of xbmc before this change happend and with a little bit of editing i got it working.I need it only for tv shows, so this code may not work for movies i don't really know, here are the steps to get it working:

!!!! you need to have XBMC Subtitles addon downloaded and enabled !!!!

1.download this

2.extract the rar in:
windows:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\script.xbmc.subtitles\resources\lib\services
linux:
$HOME/.xbmc/addons/script.xbmc.subtitles/resources/lib/services
mac:
HD/Users/your_username_here/Library/Application support/XBMC/addons/script.xbmc.subtitles/resources/lib/services

3.edit settings.xml in the resources directory

windows:
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\script.xbmc.subtitles\resources\settings.xml
linux:
$HOME/.xbmc/addons/script.xbmc.subtitles/resources/settings.xml
mac:
HD/Users/your_username_here/Library/Application support/XBMC/addons/script.xbmc.subtitles/resources/settings.xml

insert this
<setting id="Addic7ed" type="bool" label="Addic7ed.com" default="false"/>
after this
<setting id="AsiaTeam" type="bool" label="Asia-Team.net" default="false"/>

4.start xbmc and go to
System->Settings->Add-ons->Enabled Add-ons->Subtitles->XBMC Subtitles->Configure->Services
and enable addic7ted service

that's it you are go to go :)

I hope you like it

    4. Is this version of service.py still working for you? Because i tried all my tv shows and had no luck to find subtitles at all.
      The proccess goes as follows: connecting, searching and then just switch forward to the next subtitles service.

      Seems like service.py script gone outdated or smth..

  16. Hi Lachezar Kuzmanov,

    Me and a friend just tried to get Addic7ed to work, but somehow he can't find any subtitles on Addic7ed. Did something change?

    Thanks in advance.

  17. Indeed I am having trouble with this as well. Followed instructions exactly. Shows up in XBMC just fine. I see it do a 'Connecting...' at the bottom, then it stops and moves to a different provider. :(

    I would really love to have this working again, and/or maybe you could also post about how you are doing it so you can get help developing it?

  18. It looks like all is working well. Thanks for sharing this.

  19. Not working for me... I get the subtitle not found and then going to other provider... I tested with SoA latest season... subtitles in english.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  22. great work, is it possible to add other sources (sites to)?

  23. Thanks, it works perfectly on RaspBMC (On a Raspberry Pi).
    One strange thing though... i've set my preferred language to French and English and all providers give me results in both language when Addic7ed only gives English subtitles.

    Does anyone ever experienced this ?

  24. Thanks a lot for this post!

  25. Would be great if there's an update for Gotham.
    Just tried to edit the script, but it didn't work. It shows up in XBMC, but doesn't work.

    Here is my edited version: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18821358/service.subtitles.addic7ed.zip.
    I put this one in “C:\Users\Gebruikersnaam\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\”
    “addon.xml” and “settings.xml” under the folder resources were adjusted.

    I don't have any knowledge about Python, so if someone can get it to work?

  26. ...and the log, maybe it can help :) http://pastebin.com/embed_js.php?i=ex6sdQbu (from line 1060)

  27. @Saïdou Niang: maybe you should start with a working service.py file from another subtitle provider and try to incorporate Addic7ed specific url and commands

    ReplyDelete
  28. Does anyone know how to modify Gotham to take a new subtitle repository? Seems they're no longer relying on the xml file as all kinds of respositories are no longer available.
